This observatory is located in Southern California, approximately 10 miles north (as the crow flies) of the Mt Palomar observatory, at an elevation of 3500 feet. Night skys are dark, with excellent seeing conditions, however the sky glow to the West generated by Los Angeles and to a lesser degree San Diego to the South West is noticable. Year round weather is typically mild, a bit warm in the summer and ocasionnal snow in the winter
